tons of wrapping paper and gift bags thrown away each year in Canada

In Canada, 540,000 tons of wrapping paper and gift bags are thrown away each year.

Metalized wrapping paper, bows, and adhesive tape are often not recyclable, as are gift bags and decorative ribbons. Indeed, all of that goes straight to the trash...

12% of textile manufacturing ends up in landfills without even being used, making this industry one of the most polluting in the world.

There is an elephant in the room and it is time for it to be named...

Which we just did!

Why Next Chance?

Saving single-use gift wrapping, one reusable product at a time!

After thorough research and multiple failed attempts to find durable alternatives to conventional gift wrapping, we set a goal for ourselves: find a solution and make a durable difference. That’s how Next Chance came to be!

Our philosophy

We manufacture sustainably for responsible consumers.

Our team ruled out the use of new textiles to solve the single - use wrapping paper problem. Solving a problem by creating a new one is not sustainable. Instead, we took inspiration from the circular economy to create the first - ever reusable gift wraps 100% locally sourced!

It made sense to make reusable gift wraps using salvaged textiles sourced from local businesses. This solution aligned with our goal to reduce waste all while reviving new, unsold, unused, thrown - away textiles. Our thoughtful process turned into innovative products, allowing you to enjoy the beloved tradition of unwrappin g gifts in a new sustainable way!

Practically, how does it work?

AKA Our Manufacturing Process

Since 2020, salvaged materials used to manufacture our beautiful gift wraps are sourced through local big - box stores, industries, and Canadian designers.

Our collections/products are available in an ever - growing selection of colours and sizes , and every collection we release is unique and specially designed to wrap up all your loose ends!
